I am writing to tell you about our recent experience with Jakey’s Academy.  We have two Corgi dogs.  Our female who is 3 years old and our male is 1 1/2.  

We had done training with our female several years ago but it was not very successful. We recently hired Jakey to train both dogs.  They finished their 3 week training, 3 weeks ago. We brought the dogs home and could hardly recognize them.  Their behavior was completely different, just amazing.
 On simple commands they did exactly what was asked of them. They will sit, stay, down, place, come, heal and when free they are well behaved.
 They have always been loving happy dogs and that hasn’t changed.  We had a problem with obsessive barking, especially when we were leaving. They have become so much more relaxed and confident without the anxiety. Jakey has an amazing way with dogs.  The dogs listen and they want to do what they are told to do. He has come to both my son's house and our house to work with the dogs and us, since their initial training. They really want to insure that the dogs are listening and doing exactly as they were taught, as well as teaching us how to be good leaders. I would highly recommend Jakey’s Academy.  You will not be disappointed.

Jakey is an absolute pup wizard!! My dog Bonnie was a rescue that came from a pretty rough situation. She spent some time at Jakey's Academy where he helped work with her on some aggression issues and helped build her confidence. Since then, she's been such a happy, playful, wiggly girl who is gaining confidence every day. When Bonnie sees Jakey, she gets so excited and runs up to him for some affection, something she hasn't done for anybody but me before. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Jakey's Academy!!

I want to thank Jake of Jakey’s Academy for training my dog Jim. Before the training, Jim was fearful of everything, dogs, people, cars, you name it. After the three week training program, Jim walks on-leash with his head held high and with confidence. Having Jim feel confident and not fearful was my motivation for training Jim. I found Jakey’s Academy when I was in a really low place with my pup, Remi. I was holding anxiety and fear that I wasn’t equipped to handle Remi’s dog aggression and resource guarding. Although giving Remi up was never an option in my mind, I was starting to believe that our lives together would need to be very limited.

Remi completed Jakey’s 3-week training in March 2024, and with persistence and consistency, our relationship is truly transformed. Jakey has been so patient, understanding, and validating not only with Remi, but with me, helping me to see that Remi and I truly can have a better life together. Jakey has the tools that Remi and I both needed in order for us to communicate more clearly, improve our confidence, reach a healthier relationship, and even form a stronger bond than before. It takes patience and persistence, but Remi and I are finally seeing some incredible breakthroughs, and I can’t thank Jakey enough!

Oliver- My biggest worry having Oliver was about his high prey drive and lack of obedience and manners when off leash. On the leash, he would constantly pull trying to get to what resource he wanted, and it was a huge cause of frustration for the both of us. I could not trust that he would stay in my sight if excited by a squirrel or rabbit, and that I could get him to come back. When I worked on the river in Arkansas, he would disappear for hours and I would panic trying to find him, After attending Jakey's Academy, Oliver understands what is expected of him  both on leash and off-leash in any situation, whether it be in my backyard, on a trail, or floating on the river. What I was truly missing was communication and Oliver knowing what his boundaries were and expectations of him when he has some freedom. I am so relieved and proud to say that he never leads more than a 15 foot radius when I now grant him freedom because of his training. He understands to heal, leave it, and will stop his "hunt" and pursuit of sweet little bunnies the second he is told. He is proud to come back, make eye contact, and check in with me when we are adventuring. As a responsible dog owner, having the tools that Jakey's Academy has provided Oliver and I to better understand each other is off the charts. 

Lemonade- Lemonade was extremely abused, frightened, and overwhelmed after adopting her from a high kill shelter in Texas. It took months for me to even be able to pet her without her cowering or running away. Lemonade was terrified of men and going for rides in the car. She would constantly bark, whine, and was unconsolable when I would leave her. I felt hopeless that she would have to be shut off from the world because of her past. I only had her for several months before sending her to Jakey's Academy, and at first was hesitant to be away from her for 3 weeks when she was so unsure about her new world. Wow, am I so grateful and proud of the work that Jakey has done with her, because she is a completely new dog. With the amount of kindness, patience, and every ounce of joy that Jakey's Academy has poured into her, I am in tears about her transformation. She needed the communication and understanding that the world was not out to get her, that training was fun and safe, and that strangers have nothing but love to show her. She has so much confidence in herself and has such a silly little personality that I could never imagine her coming out of her shell without Jakey's Academy. She is excited when asked to place, heel, sit, and comes back immediately when called (she used to just aimlessly run away and I would have to chase her to get her to come back). She loves showing her belly to new people and is so happy to be in our pack. The tools that Jakey's Academy provides you as a dog owner is exactly what I was missing in my pack of 3, and has turned my training frustrations into joyful moments and memories working with my dogs. 

Jakey’s academy has truly helped me to form a beautiful, trusting, loving relationship with my big sweet boy, Gengar. Jakey worked wonders I am astounded with the way he has matured.

He went from a somewhat stubborn, fearful and unconfident pup to a polite, confident, trusting, happy boy. Gengar's journey with Jakey's Academy has been nothing short of amazing. Not only is he obedient, but his happiness radiates everywhere he goes! Whether we're in public places on or off-leash, Gengar's confidence shines through, and his playful, goofy personality remains intact!

The trust that's blossomed between us is truly remarkable. Jakey’s academy has allowed Gengar and I to establish a relationship based on love and trust. It’s the best feeling in the world. It fills my heart with joy to see my baby so happy, and also to have the freedom and confidence to bring him with me anywhere I go.
